From peanut butter and crushed beef bacon to sliders to a burger that plays hard to get, here are some of the best places to get your halal burger fix this year!
7 Halal Burgers in London to Check Out

Holy Smokes BBQ, Bow
The burgers at Holy Smokes took the halal food scene by storm last year and had customers travelling across the country just to see what all the fuss was about! Although their journey in Hackney Wick came to an abrupt end a few months ago, they have finally reopened up in Bow where you’ll be able to have a taste of this umami goodness yourself.

Bake St, Hackney
Bake St brought halal smash burgers to London back in 2017 at a halal food festival and we’ve never looked back. Their burgers have remained consistently good since then; the patty has the perfect crust with creamy American cheese melted into every crevice, all sandwiched in a soft, pillowy bun. It’s a burger that’s so simple but so good.

Cristina’s, Barking
Cristina’s burgers are so popular, they decided to branch off and create a special burger delivery and takeaway service called Cristina’s Smashed Burger. Their menu is more vast than the others on this list but we suggest you stick to the classic “Cristina’s Smashed Burger” which is a simple double smash patty burger with plenty of cheese. If you’re feeling like a little more pizzaz, opt for the “Nut Job” which has crushed beef bacon and peanut butter – a combination that surprisingly works!

Bintang, Camden
You may say small but we say fun-sized when it comes to these pandesal sliders from Bintang. Imagine mini short rib smashed patties topped with grilled toyomasi onions and a slice of velvety American cheese, sandwiched in one of their homemade pandesal buns. Just be wary, they’re so good you’ll be ordering your fourth portion before you know it!

Nanny Bills, Various Locations
What started as a food truck back in 2015, Nanny Bills has rightfully grown and now have a few stands dotted around. They are a consistent winner with the halal crowd and it’s not hard to see why: it’s the perfect combination of hand-pressed beef patties with tangy burger sauce, sweet caramelised onions and plenty of cheese. They have a few burger options available to order from (the Dalston Dip is a great choice) – just don’t forget the famous brisket croquettes on the side.
Halal Status: Beef and chicken is halal. Pork and alcohol is present however they take measures to ensure there is no cross contamination between the halal and non-halal products.

The menu consists of just one burger – the 28 dry aged smashed beef patty with Smash sauce, onions, cheese, pickles and onions. Don’t be shy to double, triple or quadruple up on the patties.
