Roti Canai | Roti King | £5.00
Roti King is the OG of Halal Cheap Eats in London. It is a very unassuming place, a tiny basement just next to Euston Station, but you’ll spot them from a mile away with the queue of people waiting. The food is that good.
You can opt get one of their super flaky, super buttery, super tasty roti with a bowl of dahl starting from £5.o0. You can swap the dhal for a curry (mutton, chicken, or fish) for £1.50 more, keeping it still under £10. Alternatively, the nasi lemak and goreng are both a steal at £7.00.
The restaurant is teeny tiny and a queue tends to form both at lunch and dinner seatings. I suggest visiting as soon as it opens to get a space, and there is no booking either. This is not a child friendly establishment! You can also visit their sister restaurant, Gopal’s Corner, in Victoria Market Hall.
