Etles has become a must-visit in Walthamstow serving up traditional Uyghur dishes like Da Pan Ji (large plate of hand-pulled flat noodles with vegetables and chicken in a special sauce), leghman (hand pulled noodle dishes with vegetables and meat in a peppered sauce), kung pao chicken and lamb polo – all of which you can now eat in the comfort of your own home! It definitely spices things up for your Friday takeaway.

Brigadiers, Bank

Brigadiers, in Bank, are known for their fantastic grills like the Afghan cannon kebab and humongous lamb chops, which you can order to your front door via the apps if you’re lucky enough to live in their delivery radius.

If you’re feeling a little fancy or even hungry, opt for their Thali for 1 – featuring 3 of their classic curries, pilau, naan and sauces – or their Brigadiers Feast for 1 which has bbq butter chicken wings, chicken biryani and dessert too.

Berenjak, East London Delivery Kitchen

Berenjak is a homely-Persian restaurant based in Soho and across the previous lockdowns, opened up a delivery kitchen based in East London so all of those in East can have a taste of their fantastic koobidehs, chargrilled jujeh chicken and their creamy dips like the mast-o-mousir and mast-o-khiar with naan.

Holy Smoke and Burgers, Hackney Wick

Fancy a good, juicy smash burger but not sure which one to choose from out of the 100s that exist? Holy Smoke and Burgers serve some of the best of halal burgers in London – think, a double smashed patties with plenty of cheese in a squishy brioche bun – which transport really well too. If you don’t fancy a burger, they also sell brisket tacos, humongous beef ribs and hot dogs.

Red Camel is an Afghan restaurant serving traditional dishes like mantu (large dumplings filled with seasoned lamb and served with yoghurt and curried lentils), kabuli pilau, fried chapli kebabs and much more. The hundreds of 5-star reviews testify just how good the food at Red Camel is.
